Suggest Treatment For Neck Pain That Radiates Into The Arm
my husband (77) is suffering from pain in his neck, radiating down his left arm... he has an old cervical spine injury & has been lifting heavy items? We plan to visit dr on wed. but in the interim is there anything other than advil that can help relieve his pain? How much Ibuprofen can he take?
As he is already taking Advil, he can continue the same but increase the dosage to 400 mg twice daily only until you see your doctor. Radiating pain down the left arm is also sometimes a sign of myocardial infarction or heart attack. Not to panic you but just wanted to make you aware of the conditions that cause left arm radiating pain. In your husband's case, it's mostly due to cervical spine injury aggravated by lifting weights as mentioned by you.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
