I have been getting little nose bleeding here and there when I sneeze or blow my nose! This time, I just sneezed and more blood came out than usual but it didn t last long. I have never really been prone to nosebleeds ever in my life so I am a little concerned! I have always had allergies and I just got over a cold like a couple of weeks ago. Any thoughts!? Thank you!
Hi Thank you for your query. In short-need not panic about the bleeding,it could be just a bleed following your cold. How ever I suggest you visit an ENT specialist to rule out any other problem. In detail-nose bleed most commonly occurs due to nose picking, following cold.If you are an adult male and this repeats we will have to check for any problem in your nose like septal deviation, any sinusitis, polyps in the nose ,any growrth in the nose. In case of elderly people even rise in systemic blood pressure can cause nasal bleed. I would like to know if you are on any medication like asprin or warfarin which may precipitate a nasal bleed. Last but not the least we will have to check for any abnormalities in the blood picture. hope you are helped and feel free to ask further questions.
