Suggest Treatment For Numbness And Tingling On Face

Hi. I had a stapedectomy about four months ago. All went really well, no dizziness . Some hearing is back etc. For about a month or two I am noticing some numbness and tingling on the side of my face I had the surgery. Could it be the stapedectomy? Or something else?

Facial numbness and tingling is an indicator of nerve lesions or neuropathy. There are chances to facial nerve injury during stapedectomy. Facial nerve lesion may be temporary or permanent. But it is mostly temporary. There might be other causes like facial neuralgia, trauma due to fall, herpes zoster, and tumor but likelihood of these causes is less.
Advice
1.     Amitriptyline 10 mg per oral at bed time daily for 15 days
2.     Methylcobalamin 500 mcg once daily per oral for 3 months
3.     Investigation – blood sugar (F & PP)
