Suggest Treatment For Numbness In The Hand After A Vasectomy Reversal Surgery
Hey my boyfriend had a vasectomy reversal today, and after the surgery his right hand was completely numb, tingly, and swollen. It s been a few hours since he s been home now, and the swelling has gone down, but his hand it still numb. What caused this and what should we do?
Numbness in the hand after surgery is commonly because of pinched nerve due to injections or IV sets. Numbness should go away slowly since the swelling is gone.
He can apply ointment Thrombophob locally for relieve in the area affected. But if the numbness is spreading to the different areas then you need to urgently report to the treating surgeon. Your Bf may need medical attention.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
