Suggest Treatment For Numbness In The Left Hand In A Diabetic
Hello, I ve been experiencing my whole hand going numb while sleeping. It started with just a few fingers going numb over a year ago, but now it s my whole hand, normally the right, but sometimes the left hand. I work on a computer all day typing and then I m on social media at night typing. After ready what I could find it doesn t sound like this could be carpal tunnel since it s only supposed to effect certain fingers. I don t have diabetes.
Are you duabetic or non-duabetic? In the question you mentioned duabetic but in description you mentioned nondiabetic.
It is possible that it may be peripheral neuropathy or traumatic or compressive neuropthy.
Other possibilities like Raynaud's phenomenon or hypokalemia or hypocalcemia may present like this. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Get it done nerve conduction study, the local examination is done. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Penchila Prasad Kandikattu , Internal Medicine Specialist
