Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My tongue began to feel numb in the middle and back of it. I have had some difficulty swallowing fluids. It feels like i am trying to talk over something in my tongue. I have no other symptoms just this weirdness with my tongue. It has lasted for more than a week. I am in good health at 62 with no illness or taking any meds. Dave
Thanks for asking the query. Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of numbness in tongue which could be because of sinus infection, facial nerve paresis, that is weakness of the facial nerve and problem related to tooth or jaw infection. I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist or dentist for this and get complete examination done. Chew on citrus substances to stimulate sensation. Go for complete examination of oral cavity by OPG( Radiograph) and start doing mouth stretching exercises.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
