Suggest Treatment For Numbness On Hands During Pregnancy
Hi, I am 36weeks pregnant as of today. I have been experiencing numbness on my hands when I wake up in the morning. So I asked my doctor if why I m experiencing this and if this is normal during pregnancy. She said that it is normal and happens when you re already close to giving birth. She prescribed me a medicine called dolo-neurobion which i will take twice a day for 2 weeks. I ve tried to research the med and found out that there s no study saying that it is safe for pregnant women and also i ve read that it may affect the baby. I ve already bought the med but if it will affect my baby, i won t drink it anymore even if it was a bit pricey. And i ll just endure the numbness every morning. Please advice. Thank you so much!
It is related to the nerves that enter the hands from the wrist. In pregnancy, there may be swelling or slightly increased size at the wrist which causes compression of these nerves and this causes the numbness.
A wrist brace may be helpful. It is not likely that the few doses that you used will affect the baby.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
