Suggest Treatment For Occasional Blood In Bowel Movement?
hey there, sorry a bit of a manky issue! just wondered if drinking alcohol can be related to having a spot of blood in bowel movements? as occasionally, im talking say maybe once every 6 months here i get a spot of blood usually after a night of drinking, is this related please? and is it a big deal? thanks
It is possible that alcohol may lead to gastritis or peptic ulcer or it may cause immune suppression to lead to secondary infection like dysentery or diarrhoea.
It may be due to irritable bowel syndrome etc. Avoid spicy food and alcohol. Avoid smoking and caffeine drinks.
Get it done stool examination and microscopy. Take high fibre diet with green leafy vegetables. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
