Suggest Treatment For Occipital Neuralgia Along With Memory Loss And Lack Of Coordination

Hi, I have occipital neuralgia. It is not headache like, but rather like someone took an ax or large knife and ripped it through the back of my head. The pain is wham, bam, and gone. It is getting worse and the last episode was followed by some memory loss and incoordination and loopiness, for lack of a better word. Are these things related to the ON or something else.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Occipital neuralgia could be due to possible spondyloarthrosis, oscillations in blood pressure and/or possible bad tooth.

So, a complete check up should be run as soon as possible to determine the right diagnosis:
- monitor your blood pressure and sugar levels and record the results for future reference
- neurological examination by neurologist
- oral exam for bad teeth by dentist

Meanwhile, have your meals regularly, and take oral pain killers you find over the counter.

Wish fast recovery.
