Suggest Treatment For Open Wounds Along The Lining Of Buttocks
I have 2 small open wounds along the lining of my buttocks. An example is when a person takes off the scab of a wound they have on a part of their body. The open wounds look like that now except where they are is the upper most part along the very beginning of my buttocks. Can I just put some ointment on it?
Hello and welcome to HCM, The open wounds on the buttock need to be treated first of all. Dressing of these wounds is required to allow them to heal. Ulcers in buttock region could be due to pressure. Pressure can lead to thinning of skin and thus formation of open wounds or ulcer. Healing is often delayed in case one is suffering from diabetes mellitus or high blood sugar. Sexually transmitted diseases can also lead to ulcers on the genital skin including the buttock area. I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider to diagnose the condition and to manage the ulcers.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
