Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am having some symptoms in my mouth and neck that dont seem to be getting better. I consulted with a ent dr and was given medication for oral thrush. At first it helped but since then I have finished the medication and they symptoms are still there if not worse. I am concerned there may be something more serious happening. I have left messages with my drs to get an appointment but have yet to get a phone call back. Any advice?
It looks like you have oral and throat thrush and if it got better with medication but if the symptoms are still lingering you need to repeat the course of anti-fungal medications so that the residual infection is cured.. You can also start taking more of probiotics in your diet like Yogurt and garlic as they are very helpful in clearing thrush.. Clean your tongue daily using a tongue cleaner.. Avoid antibiotic mouthwash and also avoid habits like smoking.. Continue taking the medication and as it becomes feasible consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated for the exact cause of the thrush and along with anti-fungal medication the cause will also be treated for cleaning the infection faster..
Hope you get better soon..
Regards.
