Hello,

I would like to know what injection they gave. I mean to say, what drug was given.

According to you, as you have Osteoarthritis, I would like you to start some medications:

1. Replace Ibuprofen with Tramadol orally every 6 hours as needed for pain.
2. CELECOXIB 200mg per day
3. Prednisone - start with 20 mg per day before sleeping. If no improvement, increase the dose to 50mg/day.
4. diclofenac topical gel can also be used.

Start the above treatment and after 2 months, please do an Ultrasound of Hip.

In the meantime, follow the guidelines. There is no reliable way to prevent most cases of osteoarthritis.

However, you may be able to control some factors that increase the risk of developing the disease. You can:

Maintain an ideal body weight, Prevent osteoporosis by getting enough exercise and vitamin D and calcium, and possibly by taking additional prescription medication (such as alendronate/Fosamax or risedronate/Actonel).

Prevent major accidents and injuries. It may also help to prevent or treat any conditions that might contribute to joint damage, such as hemochromatosis, gout or infection.

If any further query or after 2 months of treatment (along with USG result/report), please post another question here in HCM.

We have experienced doctors here. We can give you the next course of treatment. Do not worry. We are always ready to serve you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
