Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 59 year old woman with osteoporosis in my spine. I ve been taking calcium supplements. My doctor had me on Forteo shots fired a year in 2007, and the results were positive, reducing scores yo osteopenia levels. Now the factor wants to try Reclase, a shift once a year. However today I had a mammogram that showed calcifucation in a few tiny spots. Should I stop taking calcium supplements and postpone the Reclase until after the stereotactic core biopsy?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, the condition that is being detected in mammogram and calcium supplement are two different things and they are not related with each others, even if you stop the calcium supplement it wont make any different in calcification of breast findings, hope this helps, take care and have a nice day.
