Suggest Treatment For Osteoporosis Of The Spine And Groin Pain

Dear Dr: I am a 62 year old woman who has Osteoporosis of the spine and left hip I started to take Fosamax for over a year and had side effects heart burn and groin pain I was switched to Actonel same side effects. A few months ago i started to take Boniva. I now have a small Dowager s hump. I started taking these medications because I thought they would prevent the hump. I s there anything that can prevent the hump from expanding

As the key drugs in form of Fosamax and Actonel are not tolerated by your system, much options are not left for the better control of osteoporosis condition. Following measures will help you:
- Control of body weight
- Blood sugar and cholesterol control
- Diet balanced in amount of protein, calcium and vitamin D
- Supplements of zinc, copper, magnesium, vitamin D and calcium
- Exposure to early morning sun rays
- Regular aerobics
- Swimming
- YOGA
- Avoidance of smoking and alcohol if consuming
