Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have an ovarian cyst they have been watiching with ultrasound for 8 months, its pattern has been 7cm siple cyst, then two cysts 5 cm fluid, 3 cm hemorragic, then 5 cm fluid cyst, then complex cyst, now today is is 10 cm and is 5 cm fluid and 5 cm not fluid on ultrasound. Should I get it removed? Why did it double in size and chage its characteristics?
Ovarian cysts are fed by your bodys hormones and this could be the reason why the initially premature cyst developed into a complex one. Age, family history, menstrual history and all such factors are taken into consideration before going ahead with removal, so please discuss all of this with your doctor before considering surgery. You can also opt for some medications that may or may not help to reduce the progression.
Best wishes.
