Suggest Treatment For Overactive Bladder, Nocturia, Distended Stomach, Lower Back Pain And Constipation

Sir, since November I have encountered several health issues and have went to my primary care doc who came to the conclusion that I had a kidney stone. My symptoms were overactive bladder, night urination, distended stomach, flank and lower back pain, constipation and bloating. On top of that I was also informed that I have a pinched nerve due to herniated/slipped disc c7,c8 in my neck. I have pins and needles up and down left arm and neuro test revealed I am loosing strength in my hands grip wise. My question is none of these isues are getting any better and could they be related?

Hi,

Urinary incontinence is common along women after 50 and usually is caused by urinary infections or weakened pelvic floor. This is also a common and often embarrassing problem. If over-reactive or incontinent bladder affects your daily activities, don't hesitate to see your doctor.

For most people, simple lifestyle changes or medical treatment can ease discomfort. It is treated with specific medications, pelvic floor muscles exercises, electric stimulation of behavioral treatment and in most cases this is adequate for incontinence control. If Cystitisis a cause as a bacterial infection then it must be treated with antibiotics. Surgical options are reserved for severe and intractable cases.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
