Suggest Treatment For Pain Above Knee And Lump On The Thigh

My 20 year old son took a line drive to the thigh while pitching 3 days ago. The ball left a bruise but now down from the bruise, he has pain above his knee and he can feel a lump way under the skin. He had a blot clot a couple years ago after getting hit with a hockey puck in the leg. Of course that is what he is worried about now.
