Hi there. My mother had a total knee replacement done back in August 2014. She did everything right and progressed fast in physio. A few months went by where the pain was a lot less sometimes. However at night she would still be up all night not sleeping and her knee aching severely. Keep in mind she also has fibromyalgia and was tested for lupus and came back negative..but doctor said she has lupus type symptoms . Anyways recently she went back to her surgeon and he took xrays..everything was great with her knee. However the aching is alot worse..it s always inflamed and red. He told her to take celebrex but her feet started swelling and it wasn t even helping with the swelling of her knee. Now she s feeling hopeless and need help. I dont think it s allergies to the knee replacement because she s allergic to nickel but there s such a small percentage of it that it would only cause a skin rash if anything. If you have any tips or advice I would really appreciate it. Just not sure how long severe pain is supposed to take..it s almost a year now. Thanks!
