Suggest Treatment For Pain And Discomfort In The Rib-cage Post Injury
I fell and hit my back on the right side about 2 weeks ago. Just near the bottom of my ribcage. It was painful and was uncomfortable. It lasted about 3 days. I then felt okay for the next week or so but all of a sudden this morning, I have discomfort again. It feels like a broken rib but there is no bruising or anything. The pain transfers from the back right to the front right.
Hello dear I understand your concern Your pain could be due to muscle injury, untreated rib fracture, internal organ damage. I would suggest to consult the orthopaedic surgeon and undergo routine blood test, chest X-ray and USG if needed. Doctor give specific treatment according to test result. Take a full bed rest. Take Ibuprofen three times a day after food and with Ranitidine for next 5-6 days. Apply a rubrafacient ointment locally. Apply warm pad application. Do not lie on the painful side. Avoid stressful activity. Wear elastic crepe bandage/splint to assist respiration Hope this may help you
Contact further if follow up needed Best regards Dr. Sagar
