Suggest Treatment For Pain And Dryness In Vagina During Intercourse
I am a 54 year old female. I had a hysterectomy in 2005 and been having problems having intercourse ever since. I have been married for 36 years and haven t been able to have intercourse in about 5 years due to vaginal dryness and pain. I have been on every kind of hormone you could think of. I am struggling to keep my marriage alive We are on the verge of a divorce. What do you suggest me doing?
Hello, The complaint you have is a very common one among women who had a hysterectomy. Since you have mentioned that you tried all hormonal methods possible I'm not going into that topic. After hysterectomy, the normal hormonal support to the vagina is lost and hence the dryness. You must communicate with your partner about the condition which can relieve a lot of stress that you are facing at the moment. You and your partner can try water based lubricants which can be helpful. You can perform Keggel exercise. This is a type of exercise that can help you maintain the tone of the pelvic floor(vagina) as well. Eat a healthy diet and an active lifestyle. Do not rush on the intercourse thing, start and progress slowly. The above methods can be used along with hormones.
