Suggest Treatment For Pain And Finger Bleeding While On Blood Thinners

I am a 63 year old male. Had a small heart attack 1.5 yrs. ago. I am on blood thinner. A finger tip continues to bleed through a small, 1/16 diameter area where I think I might have gotten a splinter. No pain but the area around the injury is raised slightly, like a miniature volcano and is white in color. Pressure does not stop the bleeding. I see my family doctor tomorrow and have a call in to my cardiologist. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to blood thinners.

For further assessment, you may require complete hemogram, prothrobin time after consultation

Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam Kale
