Suggest Treatment For Pain And Heaviness In The Chest

Greeting doctor Andrew, self of mine am nandu and my wife who is 28year old and she a mother of a 4year old baby. now a days she were experiencing severe chest pain and she feel sometimes her chest is heavier than normal.Doctor can u exhort me the treatment or a doctor whom i need to consult for this kind.

Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

I would explain that there are many causes of this clinical symtomatology (musculo skeletal issue, esophageal spasms, gastroesophageal reflux, anxiety, etc.) and a careful differential diagnosis should be done.

What is her previous medical history?

A cardiac disorder can not be excluded, even considering her young age.

I would recommend consulting with her GP for a careful physical examination and some tests :

-resting ECG
-chest X ray study
-lab blood tests (complete blood count, inflammation tests, blood electrolytes, kidney and liver function tests)

A fibrogastroscopy should be done to exclude possible esophageal spasms or gastroesophageal reflux.

If all the above tests result normal, anxiety should be considered as the main possible cause.
