Suggest Treatment For Pain And Itching Around The Ear Canal
I am experiencing pain in the tragus portion of my right ear. I am also experiencing the following: - itching around my ear canal (left ear) -Swelling of the tragus (right and left ear) -Pressure inside the ear (right more than the left ear) -Feeling of fullness in the ear (right and left ear) -Jaw pain (left side) -Scaly skin or dried wax around the ear (left ear) I have been told I had some wax in my left ear. I have applied mineral oil to soften the wax and have tried to flush it out, but I believe some of the wax is still present. Thank you in advance for reviewing my symptoms and for your answer to my question.
It seems like wax is not the only issue here as it could have lead to impaction of infective material and lead to soft tissue inflammation or infection like otitis externa which may need oral antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicine.
I suggest it's better to get an otolaryngologist review and get otoscope examination as well as external ear examination. Also that using soda glycerine may soften the wax and can help him remove it more conveniently. Local antibiotics drops may also be needed after the review.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
