Suggest Treatment For Pain And Soreness In The Throat

Hi I've had a bad cold.....most of the symptoms have cleared up, but now my throat hurts badly only on the right side. My tonsil on this side seems to be more inflamed than the other, and there are these hole like things on the sore side as well, and now the pain is radiating into my ear, what should I do for this?

I am sorry to hear about your problem and will like to solve it with the best of my knowledge...

As per your query it seems that you suffered from upper respiratory tract infection also known as common cold and is viral in nature and along with it there has been secondary bacterial infection leading to Tonsillitis..
Soreness and inflammation in tonsils is due to infection and you need not to worry as it will resolve son with medication..

-You can start taking a script of antibiotics like Amoxicillin or Azithromycin..
-Take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen to relieve pain as well as inflammation..
-You should gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine to relieve pain especially during swallowing..
-Do warm saline gargles..
-Chew a Vitamin C pellet daily..
-Avoid spicy and chilled foods..
-Drink plenty of water to maintain hydration as well as prevent irritation caused by dryness in throat..
