My mother has a bad ankle. She s 88 and it s swelling and painful when she gets up. Very hard for her to walk. She s seen a doctor but they just said to watch it. I m worried that she should be icing it or elevating it to reduce the swelling. They gave her Aleve and ibuprofen. The Aleve is making her sick, so she s taking the ibuprofen and at a lesser dose than they suggested. It was 8 times a day on the ibuprofen. Seemed excessive. She does not take a lot of meds ever.
