Suggest Treatment For Pain And Swelling In The Ankles And Feet

My ankle and foot started to really bother me about 5 days ago. I have pain and swelling and can t remember twisting it. It hurts to walk on it and I get no relief from sitting down and putting my foot up. I m afraid that there may be something else wrong. My co-workers said it could be gout. I ve never had that before and don t know if that s the problem.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to blunt trauma.

For further assessment you may require X Ray foot after orthopedician consultation.

For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition.

Use ankle cap.

Use support while walking.

Restrict your movements

Hope I have answered your query..
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
