hello! I ve been clearing some blackberry bush and I got smacked in my finger knuckles. I didn t feel it but saw a big pool of blood, washed it off and rinse with alcohol. I ve noticed swelling and pain and starting to turn blue-green. should I seek medical attention? I did go back to check if it was poison ivy but not. it s blackberry for sure.

Hi.

If it is a blackberry bush for sure, you should get medical attention for the following reason:

1. You need a tetanus shot

2. You need to get the wound cleaned and dressed by medical personnel

3. It is better to start off on a prophylactic course of antibiotics

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
