Suggest Treatment For Pain And Swelling On The Foot
I fell the week before thanksgiving, 2015 while going into the house. My left foot hit the brick step and it hasn t healed. I am a diabetic and take warfarin 7.5, 1 tablet on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays and 1and1/2 all other days. The sore has improved but continue to swell at the end of the day and cause sharp pain. I can apply a little pressure on the top part of the sore, that has shrunk from a half dollar size to nickel. It caused my foot to turn dark in January and the doctor at Valley Health Care ordered x rays. The results said it was not broken and said something about it being vascular. It causes pain on the front and sometimes side o the lower part od my leg. I want to know will Meloxicam help the pain. I took Mobic years ago and I read that they were the same drug.
It may be due to injury. For further assessment you may require X Ray foot after orthopedician consultation. For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen. Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition. You may require surgical intervention after surgeon consultation. Till then use support while walking.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
