Suggest Treatment For Pain Around The Breast And Arm Region With Breathing Difficulty
I have a sharp pain right below my right breast that radiates down my right arm. Its not constant, but it does come and go a few days at a time, and has lasted for about 2 months. It seems to be bothersome when I take a deep breath. I do not smoke, but I do vape.
1. since the symptoms are there for 2 months thus I do recommend following symptomwise approach:
i. as it is related to breathing then the history of trauma and local tenderness [for rib fracture] make the diagnosis obvious, however, in absence of trauma, pain on breathing could be a pleural pathology. [ask for chest X-ray to exclude pleuritis, pleural effusion]
iii. If pain is not resolved in 4-5 days, consult a chest specialist who will go for systemic examination and if any chest signs are present will ask for X-ray of chest with Hb%, WBC, ESR and then will provide with proper management.

** Thanks for contacting with your health concern 1. since the symptoms are there for 2 months thus I do recommend following symptomwise approach: i. as it is related to breathing then the history of trauma and local tenderness [for rib fracture] make the diagnosis obvious, however, in absence of trauma, pain on breathing could be a pleural pathology. If the pain is on the right side, in addition to x-ray, ask for ultrasonography of HBR [hepatobiliary region] for Amoebic liver abscess and Cholecystitis. iii. If pain is not resolved in 4-5 days, consult a chest specialist who will go for systemic examination and if any chest signs are present will ask for X-ray of chest with Hb%, WBC, ESR and then will provide with proper management.
