Suggest Treatment For Pain At Back Of Knee

i have oain to the back of my knee x apx 2 months that has been getting worse. no swelling or bruising. i had a trip and fall apx 3 months ago, spraining my ankle and may have twisted my knee. it feels like it was hyperextended. didn t bother me at the time but is gradually getting worse. ibuprofen and pain cream do not help. I have also noticed some soreness to the back of my thigh. I am an RN and stand in the ER for long periods of time. I walk 3-4 miles on my days off.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The pain over back of knee with history of tripping before 3 months, indicate possible ligament sprain or strain. Though conventional measures of heating pad, analgesic tablets or spray would fulfill primary relief, I would recommend an MRI of the knee region to conclude the final diagnosis and cure accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
