Suggest Treatment For Pain Due To Skin Tear On Coccyx
throughout the past day my tailbone has started to hurt depending on how I sat. When I looked in the mirror, there was a visible triangular shape going in between my two butt cheeks. As I pressed on it with my finger there was a small pain. Pulling my cheeks slightly apart, I noticed a small slit that looked like it was bleeding, but it wasn t. It is just a tear in the skin. I know I should go to the doctor s in the morning to check it out, but I m clueless as to what it might be.
The pain with skin tear on coccyx and slight bleeding is an alarming sign of development of underlying Pilonidal sinus disorder. My guidelines at present till you consult your doc tomorrow: - Keep the part clean with antiseptic soap or liquid - Shave the hair of overlying skin taking care to avoid injury - Local application of neosporin skin ointment - Control of blood sugar - Sitz bath (sitting in a tub filled with lukewarm water) 5 minutes each twice a day
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
