Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 18 year old son ate a salad from a fast food restaurant a few hours ago. He started feeling badly, pain in the abdomen but when he stood up he passed out and lost control of his bladder. When he woke up he was cold and clammy. He s pretty sure its just food poisoning because he s feeling better after he went to the bathroom but still a little nauseaus. Wondering if I should take him to urgent care, he doesn t want to go:(
Need not to worry. For now, eat light and non-spicy and avoid food like seafood and nuts. You should take antacid after every meal and keep your head elevated while lying down. Take a light walk after every meal and also take Anaspas for pain. I would suggest you consult a gastroenterologist for proper examination. The doctor may order stool test, ultrasound, endoscopy along with that take history. The doctor may prescribe laxative, ornidazole or albendazole along with ranitidine.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
