Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was walking when suddenly I had pains in my left ankle as if a cord was being tightened around it. A few minutes later the same thing happened to my right ankle. It continued to get worse to the point that I could hardly put my weight on them. A few moments later I had chest pressure along with pain in my left shoulder and my left arm. I went to ER where I was admitted and observerd. The next day I had Nuclear Stress Test which was negative. Also a Doppler test of both legs the next day was negative. I was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday. The feeling of a cord being tight around my ankles ended but as I walk now I have tremendous pain that runs up from each ankle for about 6 - 8 inches to the calf.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by an orthopedic surgeon or podiatrist. Get tests (tinel's test, etc) and X-ray or MRI if required done. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected. You can take NSAIDS, Naproxen, one SOS when needed for relieve from pain.
To reduce any inflammation or swelling, keep your foot elevated and apply cold compression. You may need custom made shoes for better comfort. Sometimes, surgery may be needed to relieve the discomfort. Get treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician

You are suggested to get clinically examined by an orthopedic surgeon or podiatrist. Get tests (tinel s test, etc) and X-ray or MRI if required done. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected. You can take NSAIDS, Naproxen, one SOS when needed for relieve from pain.
