Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
It started with ear pain but now, I have bad pain in upper jaw. I have had jaw problems for a couple years so I don t know if this is related, or something different. butt this morning it was extra sore and especially near my ear. I felt around and found a large lump under skin and it is extremely sore to the touch. I can t get a doctors apt until the middle of august. and I don t want to visit ER for something that may be silly.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pain in ears and upper jaws which is mainly due to temporomandibular joint dysfunction. Temporal arteritis could be other possible cause. I would suggest you to take few preventive measures such as do not eat anything hard for few days. Take soft diet only. Do not open mouth wide and always support lower jaw while yawning. Don't do side to side or bruxism movement of jaws and teeth. apply cold compressors. Take painkiller and antinflammtory drugs. Visit general physician once and get it examined. Go for mouth stretching exercises and massage therapy.
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
