Suggest Treatment For Pain In Foot And Numbness In Toe

I have visited an Orthopedic quite some times now , after suffering an injury during a soccer game . My foot hurt every time i walked on uneven ground, on the inner side of my right ankle, also on outter side ocassionaly . They failed to figure out what I had after a series of CT scans, MRIs , and X Rays. At the end they finally saw bone collision so they prescribed an Aircast boot wich i ve had for around 3 days now . Now ive started having problems. I have a numbness on my toe next to my big toe that doesnt go away now. Even if i take off the boot its still there and The nerves on my foot have been going crazy. If i curl my toes i can feel all the nerves have kind of like a shock. This has never happened before please help

Hi,

You have not mentioned whether your toe / area where you have the numbness is pale, blue and cold to touch. I wonder whether the aircast has being tied up too tight, or whether this is a complication of your initial symptoms, and now you are complaining of symptoms suggestive of a compartment syndrome.

Since these symptoms began since using the new aricast boots, my suggestion would be to have a chat with the orthopedics team as they might want to offer further assessment and investigate if it is indeed a compartment syndrome.
