Suggest Treatment For Pain In Gums

Hello, last night I made rice, but some of the kernels were a little hard. I bit down on one perfectly on my right molar and now my gum is aching, but there is no swelling or redness. I rinsed mouth with warm water and flossed carefully. Also I have chewed on raw onion (which helps pain), but I m wondering if I need to see dentist since there is no redness or swelling... Any advice?

Hi,
You just take a pain killer if it is too painful. Usually it subsides in a day or maximum two. Nothing to worry as there is no swelling or redness.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Phanindra Dulipala, Diabetologist
