Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
As I was resting after a lengthly day and while in my recliner, my right leg began to be extremely painful - from the hip joint down to the knee. Felt like someone was twisting something inside my leg. I thought cramp at first but could not arise due to pain. When I was finally able to get up, my knee joint was quite painful and has been for the past 4-5 hours. Does not appear to be any swelling or redness, just pain.
If it has happened after you rested in your recliner then there is a possibility of you having got a muscle strain or a ligament strain in your knee. I would advise you to take a simple pain killer like paracetamol and apply some local ointment over the area. The symptoms would disappear in a few days.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
