Suggest Treatment For Pain In Jaw

Severe ache in jaw on right side--seems to emanate from the upper part of the hinge in the jaw.
Started while eating and biting something hard. My dentist is treating for infection--3 days of 2x625 augmentin hane brought no relief.
Taking pain killers 2x2Keterol for 4-6 hours of relief.

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The pain in the jaw joint can be because of the disc displacement in the Temporomandibular joint. Consult a oral physician and get it diagnosed. You can take anti inflammatory drugs like piroxicam 20mg twice daily on first day and twice daily on next 6 days. Do not eat hard things, do not open your mouth too wide. take soft diet.
After consulting the oral physician get a radiogrpah done like OPG and TMJ views to rule out any tooth infection or joint problem. If it is a tooth infection the antibiotics what you are taking should help. but if it is joint problem, then these will not work.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
