mri shows a torn rotator cuff. waiting for surgery. woke up last night with a very sharp pain in the lower back of the skull. Headache has not lessened all day. also have nausea. Should I take something? 2 extra strength Tylenols does nothing to help with the pain.

Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like occipital neuralgia , migraine , brain tumor , stroke , cervical spondylosis or cluster headaches. I would suggest you to consult neurologist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan or MRI to confirm the diagnosis along with physical examination . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxants, and antidepressant or anticonvulsant medications. Doctor may also refer you to orthopedic surgeon for cervical problem .
