Suggest Treatment For Pain In Ribs When Suffering From Multiple Sclerosis

I have m.s and lately have pain in ribs on left side. Pain gradually developed over a few days getting worse and worse. I have not had an injury. It is a very sharp strong pain in lower ribs front round to back. It is worse when I am standing up. Least pain in morning after resting in bed, but after getting up it starts to build up. Taking ibuprofen but it is not helping

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The pain could be Neurogenic due to pressure at the spinal level/weakness of bones due to calcium, vitamin D deficiency/joint pain at the costochondral junction).

See your family doctor for needful physical examination & investigations followed by specific treatment or referral to expert.

You can take otc tab Ibuprofen/local pain ointment like Relaxyl for some relief till then.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
