Hello,

Pain in the ribs commonly occur due to trauma, injury, fracture, muscle strain, ligament or tendon rupture, inter-costal pain or inter-costal neuralgia. Sometimes such symptoms are also complained by patients having IBS, Gastritis, acid reflux, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get imaging tests, X-ray, CT, MRI done to detect the pathology causing you discomfort. You can take NSAIDS, Naproxen one SOS when pain. You can also take PPI's for relief.

You can apply pain relieving ointments/gels or spray for relief. Do not massage. Get connected to a physiotherapist, do stretch exercises. Avoid sedentary lifestyle. Your treatment will depend on the pathology detected.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
