Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a pain right above my right eye approximately where the bone starts above the eye socket. I brush it off as eye strain. I ve had it most days now for a few months. It doesn t wake me up at night. When I take Tylenol it goes away. So that s what I ve been doing. I had lasik on both eyes in 2004. I wore glasses prior to that. Need them again. Had a prescription that I did not fill back in 2012. I use readers and have done so for the last few years. I had another eye exam recently and am filling the prescription this time. I have not discussed this pain with my gp at physical a few months ago or the ophthalmologist who did my exam. I should have, I realize. It must not have been bothering me and I forgot. I did have a laser treatment at Johns Hopkins to prevent a glaucoma attack in January 2016. I had a very narrow canal for fluid to flow discovered at the ophthalmology appt but was leaving town the next day to help with triplet grand babies as the third one had just come home. They live in MD and I live in NC. It s better now but the doctor said it didn t completely correct the problem. Ready to call to make an appt. specifically for this continuing pain but wanted to check it out on webmd first, then call. Saw ask a doctor so here I am. Like I said , I m thinking it s just eye strain so I had not discussed it. Saw this ask a doctor so here I am. I m 62. Non smoker, female. Healthy and very active.
You can take over the counter analgesic like Acetaminophen and Paracetamol and Ibuprofen for pain relief. See a neurologist who will go for a scan of brain and orbit.
