My mom fell a week ago and scraped her shin really bad. She is on an antibiotic and gets dressing changes daily. A few days after the fall, her foot was very swollen, red and warm. Once she was put on the anitibiotic her foot improved. Ten days later her foot is not longer swollen put she says she has sharp pains in her wound. Her wound clearly looks like it is healing. What is causing this pain? She is 77 years old and I know the wound will take time to heal but I am concerned about the pain.
