Hi there,

It sounds as though you might have overloaded your right shoulder blade with weight. The spread of pain you described makes it sound as though you have been subconsciously compensating for the reduced movement in your right shoulder blade by straining surrounding muscles.

Applying ice to the painful shoulder blade can bring about temporary relief. I recommend that you quickly visit your regular doctor and have him or her examine your right shoulder blade and the surrounding sore areas to rule out potential problems or severe injury.
