Suggest Treatment For Pain In Sternum Area That Radiates To The Back
hello, I have been having pain by my sternum and also chest pains that radiates to my back. I also have a constant headache. My chest pains almost feel compressed. I am wondering if this is a sign of heart disease or maybe gallstones. I am overweight about 20 lbs but my cholesterol and blood pressure are good. Can you maybe tell me what might be going on? I have been under a lot of stress lately. Thank you in advance for your response
Hi Sternal/chest pain radiating to the back could be caused by many things. In addition to the ones you already thought of, Gastritis and sternal mass.In your case, it is more of gastritis given the fact that you have been under a lot of stress lately.Try Pain medications steroidal anti-inflammatory like dexamethasone and an anti-secretory like omeprazole. Also, avoid peper, much spices and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen.Avoid going on an empty stomach for long too.If the pains continue, see a doctor to examine you and investigate.A chest x-ray, electrocardiogram and an abdominal ultrasound can eliminate all the other possible causes of your pain.
