Suggest Treatment For Pain In Stomach And Nausea After Eating Watermelon
I ate watermelon and then had a half of a margarita. Suddenly I had a pain in my stomach, felt nauseated, chest pressure, and then proceeded to vomit. Within a half hour I felt fine, no problem. Is it the lycopene from the watermelon and the alcohol mix that is bad?
Watermelon contains about 92% water as well as dietary fibres. But consuming of large amount may harm your body. You may face some digestive problems like abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, flatulence, gas etc as the fruit contains sorbitol which is sugar compound and well known for developing diarrhea with gas. Another causative agent for such type of incident is the lycopene which is an antioxidant. Again lycopene can react with alcohol which may develop liver inflammation in case of regular alcohol consumer. For that , people with drinking alcohol should not take large quantities of watermelon.
Take care. Hope I have answered your questions. Let me know if I can assist you further.
