Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I slammed a 113 pound barbell onto my upper chest 3 days ago. It hurt and I almost passed out, but didn t and went on with my day. Soreness is off and on, but I have concentrated pain on the upper right side between clavical and top of breast. Taking a deep breath hurts. Is this related to the injury, or could it be breast related?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Considering the object causing the injury, It can be just be a soft tissue injury or bony injury. It's advisable to consult an orthopedic doctor/get an x-ray chest done to exclude any fracture of rib and ask for specific management. Till then don't massage or rub the part. Hot or cold compresses are permissible. Take an over the counter pill of NSAID like Brufen.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
