Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I have been having pain in my left foot every morning for the last month or two. I have had plantar fasicitis before in this foot and I believe I had it again. Today it felt alot better and so I joined in on a game of tennis. I jumped to hit a ball landed, heard this pop sound, felt burning in my arch and heel and now I am completely unable to bear weight. I plan to see my doctor Tuesday as its a holiday weekend. Any thoughts?
The reason for pain due to either sprain or any hairline fracture. In the meantime try to avoid bearing weight on that foot, and keep a pillow under the food while sleeping, this will decrease the chances of swelling due to pain.
You can take Ibuprofen twice daily (only if not allergic) if the pain is severe. Consult your doctor and go through X-ray.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Harikrishna Yamjala, Emergency Medicine Specialist
