Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Groin Muscles

I am a soccer official and believe I either pulled or torn a Groin muscle. it hurt to the point where it was tough to walk. I shut down for a week and my doctor put me on an anti-inflamitory for that week. It seamed to make the pain subside. I did a game tonight and the pain is back like before. I know I should shut it down for the season but not really sure what it is... Thanks, Andy

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a torn muscle.

I suggest you use anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day.

I also recommend using a non-inflammatory cream such as Voltaren cream.

I suggest to use ice compresses and maintain the area immobilized.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
