Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Hips

I recently noticed as I get out of my car that the right side of my hip hurts when I get out and put my right foot down. I tried adjusting my seat but it doesn t help. It s the strangest feeling; like a heavy weight is being set on top of my right hip / waist area. Strange though but when I place mm left foot out the door and get out of the car, there is no heavy pressure felt on my left hip or side. You would think there would be since it s the stabilizing foot helping get out of the car. The heavy pressure is only felt on my right side.. I m a little overweight, female, 48 yrs young. Elementary school librarian. On my feet most of the day. borderline type 2 diabetic. Started taking metformin but keep forgetting to take it. I know, I will start Rex tomorrow. Any suggestions? Thank you for your time and considerations, Kristina ( YYYY@YYYY )

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history and understood the concerns.
First of all get the blood sugar and HbA1c checked and get started on a very regular treatment for diabetes as its control will avoid many a complications, the right hip pain may be one of these.
Since you have problem with right hip joint area there is a possibility of
inflammation of the joint, may be avascular necrosis and so on.
This can be diagnosed by the following ways:
Consult an Orthopedic Surgeon so that a proper clinical evaluation and examination will lead to a proper clinical diagnosis to be confirmed by CT and MRI of the affected area.
This will give the most proper diagnosis and gives a plan of management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant,
